I’ve always been a fearless adventurer. As a young girl, I spent hours exploring the forests and mountains around my family’s cabin in the Rockies. As I grew older, my thirst for adventure only intensified, and I began traveling to far-flung corners of the world in search of new experiences.
It was on one of these trips that my life was forever changed. I was on a small plane, flying over the Pacific Ocean, when the engine suddenly failed. The pilot did his best to make an emergency landing on the beach of a nearby island, but we crashed into the dense jungle instead.
When I came to, I was the only survivor. I was stranded on a remote island with nothing but the clothes on my back and a few supplies salvaged from the wreckage. The first few days were a blur of fear and confusion. I had no idea how long I would be stranded, or if anyone would ever find me.
But as the days turned into weeks, I began to adapt to my new life on the island. I learned how to catch fish and forage for fruit, and I built a shelter out of branches and leaves. I spent my days exploring the island and trying to find a way to signal for help.
But as the weeks turned into months, I began to wonder if I would ever be rescued. I missed my family and my old life, but I also felt a strange sense of freedom and independence. I had always been so focused on chasing the next adventure, but now I was forced to live in the moment and appreciate the simple things.
I don’t know how long I was stranded on that island, but one day a passing boat spotted the smoke from my signal fire and rescued me. I was overjoyed to be reunited with my family and my old life, but a part of me will always cherish the memories of my time on that island, when I was forced to rely on my own strength and resourcefulness to survive.
